Other Attractions in Oaxaca

Monedas de Oaxaca y Antiguedades
I discovered this place on my last trip to Oaxaca. They specialize in antiques of all kinds;religious artifacts, paintings, regional costumes, coins and the most incredible jewelry. They charge by weight.
It is a great find. The address is Abasolo # 107 around the
corner from Casa Oaxaca the restaurant.

Los Baules
A store located on the main walking street (Alcala) in a small
mall-type building. The owners specialize in preserving particular
weaving and textile work indigenous to Oaxaca, mostly dyed with
organic and natural coloring (pommegranate, bark, cochinilla).
They have the most gorgeous textiles you will ever see (panchos,
shalls, rebosos, hats, huipiles and antique regional costumes).
They accept Visa and MC, but you can normally bargain a bit if you pay cash.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE PLACE TO SHOP IN OAXACA-ABSOLUTELY UNIQUE AND SPECTACULAR!

Benito Juarez Mercado
The local market downtown open every day. Good stalls for lunch and
ice cream. Make sure to taste the flavors leche quemada and tuna
which are burnt milk and cactus pear. They are traditionally served
together at weddings and are delicioso! The huge market further
downtown (the Abasotos) is on Saturday and worth seeing but an
all day affair. It is the largest market in the whole state.

.

Candela
Great salsa club with live music Thursday, Friday and Saturdays.

El Sol y La Luna
Another club usually with local music and/or jazz.
